The new sauna raft has been named BABS! But - why BABS?
The beginning of today's Engø Gård Hotel & Restaurant was Pihls Pensjonat - one of Tjøme's many summer boarding houses, which had its heyday from the 1920s to the early 1960s. It was the romantic Frithjof Pihl and his sister Daisy who started a guest house on Engø in 1924.
In 1935, Englishwoman Dorothy Grace Babington - nicknamed "Babs" - visited the farm and fell in love with both the place and Frithjof.
They married the following year, and with Babs came an interesting, strong and distinctive personality to Engø.

Open sauna Saturday-Sunday, 14:00-17:00:
- Bring your loved ones and experience pure relaxation in our open sauna. For only 195,- per person you get 50 minutes of wellness and relaxation.
Exclusive sauna Mon-Thurs:
- Do you want an exclusive experience for you and your colleagues? Engø Gård's sauna raft is available Mon-Thurs for only 1 795,-, and gives you up to 2 hours of private sauna experience for up to 10 people.
Exclusive sauna Fri-Sun:
- The weekend becomes even more special with Engø Gård's exclusive sauna experience. For 2 395,-, you and up to 9 friends can enjoy 2 hours of sauna and panoramic views of the fjord. Perfect for celebrations and social gatherings.
On request, we also offer aufguss and sauna rituals, which add an extra dimension to your sauna experience and give you a deeper sense of well-being.
